I joined uAMWA as a freshman, attending a few events here and there, but quickly found myself appreciating how supportive and welcoming the community is. It is incredibly encouraging to be surrounded by so many goal-driven women!
Fun Fact: I’ve dissected a human cadaver and got to hold their heart 🫀

When and Why Did You Join uAMWA?
I joined uAMWA during my first-year; I was looking for a community of women interested in pre-health who could serve as mentors and life-long friends. I have found both.

I joined AMWA in spring of my sophomore year and immediately knew this community was special. I am constantly surrounded by uplifting women who have helped me grow both personally and professionally! Now, as a senior, I am so grateful for the opportunity to pour back into a community that has meant so much to me.
Fun Fact: I love paddle boarding and kayaking!

I joined uAMWA in my freshman year because I was excited to contribute to a community that encourages women to pursue their goals in healthcare.

When and Why Did You Join uAMWA?
I joined AMWA my freshman year and this is my first year on the board. AMWA gave me an opportunity to connect with other pre-health women at UF and I saw it as a way to help me understand the pre-med process. It also gave me a community of women I could relate to and share academic experiences with. At my first GBM I was excited to heard from a guest speaker who went to medical school and knew the admissions process. Getting the opportunity to talk with upperclassmen through mentorship offered me a lot of much needed guidance. Through AMWA, I have grown as a student and a leader.
Fun Fact: I have been to at least 19 countries! My family and I love to travel. My last trip was to Turkey before this fall semester started.

When and Why Did You Join uAMWA?
I joined my freshman fall, looking for a pre-medicine organization I could dedicate some of my extracurricular time to; it became so much more than that. I have been a part of AMWA all four of my undergraduate years and have loved every moment. The wonderful women you are surrounded by make your experience at UF as a women in pre-medicine amazing!
Fun Fact: I enjoy musical theater, cooking, and spending time with my loved ones!

I joined AMWA last fall because I wanted to meet new people who share similar interests and are also on the pre-health path. I thought it would be a great way to make new friends, connect with people who have similar goals, and get more involved in the pre-health community
