Hello there! I thought I might as well make a sample post of what your blog post could look like on our website. Included in this post is also a step-by-step guide to submitting a blog post to our UF uAMWA blog.
Picking a Topic to Write About
Think about what you want to share with the rest of our UF uAMWA division and anyone else potentially looking at our website. Perhaps you feel as though you excel in one particular area of school: a specific subject, school organization skills, or extracurriculars on campus. Let your voice be heard. No one topic is too small or insignificant to write about. Someone will be able to learn from it and you may even learn new things as you write the post yourself.

Another good place to look for ideas on what to write is looking at the National AMWA Pre-Med Division Blog! Here are posts that are shared with uAMWA's around the country written by other undergraduate students.
Addressing Your Audience & Finding Your Tone
This will most likely be dependent on the topic you are writing about. Is it something more casual that can be applied to most students? Or is it specific to your track's graduate applications? Or maybe it's just about your personal experience? I think it is best to keep who you are writing to in mind so that you may cater to their attention better.
I urge you to also find what kind tone you are going for: Formal, Casual, Cheerful, Inspirational, Nostalgic, Mentor-like, etc. By introducing your own tone into your writing, you inherently are introducing your own voice and character into your writing.
Organizing Your Post
This is of course optional for you to do, but during the writing process it is easier to subcategorize ideas by using headings and subheadings.
These do not need to be included in all posts but it does offer more organization within a post. I would also ask that you think about how you would want your post to flow: chronologically, topically, etc.
Including Interactive Components: Pictures, Embeds, or Links
Another part of your blog that should be considered is adding in additional elements to supplement your writing. It's surprising how much more interesting a post can become if some visual aids are added to it. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. Even if you have no relevant pictures there are other options to consider: videos, embeds, files, and links. These are great options that can give readers a better perspective of your writing. It can be as little as linking your favorite poem or as big as what inspired you to write the post!
Submitting Your Blog Post to UF uAMWA
Now your final step is almost here! I recommend writing your post on a separate word processor (i.e. Google Drive, Word Doc, etc.) so that you don't lose your work and that way you can easily revise and edit your post. Once you feel comfortable with
what you wrote, please use the UF uAMWA Blog Submission Google Form
to submit your information and blog content.
